Obituary of Lisa Ann Addis Bernauer

Lisa Ann Bernauer (known as Miss Lisa B) age 54, died peacefully in the arms of her husband on May 11, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a courageous thirteen year battle with cancer. Lisa was born on October 18, 1965 in La Mirada, California to Frank and Judy Addis. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Political Science in 1987 where she was a member of the Honor Society, Phi Beta Kappa. Lisa homeschooled her three children, which is where she found her passion for teaching. She later returned to school and received a Masters Degree in Education from National University. Lisa went on to teach kindergarten at Discovery Charter School in addition to tutoring students at Wildflowers Learning Studio. Although Lisa recently retired from her successful teaching career, she continued to tutor students at Wildflowers. Her success as a mentor to her students and their families could not be understated. She was happily married to Taylor Seumalu, who was her partner in life for nearly ten years. Lisa is survived by: her husband, Taylor; her three children, Stephen, Katie and Anna; her sister, Brenda; her mother, Judy; her father, Frank; and numerous others. Apart from spending time with family and close friends, Lisa loved being a teacher, and was very involved with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved spending time at the beach with her family, and dog, Nalu. Lisa had a bright and humorous personality. Whether it be a student, a friend, or a doctor, her uniqueness, integrity, and spirit have inspired all those around her. Lisa will be put to rest in the Cross Garden section of Bunker's Memory Gardens Memorial Park on Friday, May 15, 2020. In lieu of flowers, Miss Lisa B asked before passing that any donations be made to the Garden Farms Foundation at https://www.paypal.me/GFFoundation. Please make note that it is in memory of Lisa Bernauer. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)
