Obituary of Juh Bin Hwang

Juh Bin Hwang, 87, passed away on August 29, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Changhua City, Taiwan on December 1, 1932 as the oldest of 5 children to Ming Jui Hwang and Huo Yu Wei.

Juh Bin was a devoted son, loving husband, proud father, caring grandfather, and dependable brother. He loved learning, traveling, history, stock market trading, the Purdue Boilermakers, Chinese novels, and sweets. He valued education highly and was proud of his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue.

Juh Bin learned English and became a successful engineer and businessman in a country where he knew no one upon his arrival. He was well-respected and highly regarded by those who knew him. Bin was generous, kind, thoughtful, and caring. He had a great sense of humor and was an eloquent speaker who enjoyed sharing stories and discussing current world events.

He met his future wife, Shin Shin, while attending National Cheng Kung University. They married in September 1962 in West Lafayette, Indiana and had over 57 wonderful years of marriage. Through the years, Bin created a large social network, connecting with family and friends from childhood through each chapter of his life --Taiwan Technical School, National Cheng Kung University, Purdue University, Corning Glassworks, CE Lummus, his years as a small business owner, and his retirement in Las Vegas. Juh Bin loved living life to the fullest, and in the last 15 years, he traveled extensively with family and friends both within the United States and internationally.

Bin is survived by his wife, Shin Shin; daughters Judi (Yuh), Caroline (Jon), Amanda (Philip), and Grace (Jason); grandchildren Isabelle and Katarina; JackOwen, Gianna, and Ava; Nicholas, Emily, and Caitlin; and Mia and Tessa; sister Jenny Ishii; and multiple nieces, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Juh Bin was loved dearly and will be missed immensely. Thank you all for the love and support you have shown our father and family through these difficult weeks.
