Obituary of Gloria Wright Bresnahan

Gloria Wright Bresnahan, affectionately known as Gigi, died unexpectedly in her home in Las Vegas on July 19, 2021. She was 68. Gigi was born in Gulfport, Mississippi in 1952 and graduated from Gulfport High School, where she was voted wittiest in her class. She attended college at the University of Mississippi, where she met Bob Bresnahan, who was in law school. They moved to Meridian, Mississippi in 1973 for Bob to start his law practice, with Gigi as his paralegal. During her 33 years in Meridian, she worked for People's Bank, Sy Rosenbaum at Continental Development, Great River Insurance Company, and Dr. Sam Bailey. Gigi's proudest accomplishment was her two children, Maggie Plaster and Paul Bresnahan. Gigi moved to Las Vegas in 2006 to help Maggie and Brian Plaster care for her two grandchildren, Coleman and Gabby Plaster. She was a dedicated employee of the Plaster family business, Signature Management, in accounts payable, for 14 years until the day she died. Away from work she enjoyed creating arts and crafts, especially lighted bejeweled bottles, a favorite of all who received them. Gigi was preceded in death by her father (Paul L. Wright, Jr.), mother ("Dodie" Wright), and sister (Patty Bowden). Gigi was known for her beautiful white hair and contagious laugh. She was truly one of a kind, full of spunk and personality, and just fun to be around. Her very direct, tell-it-like-it-is attitude could initially be shocking, but once people got to know her they found it endearing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. There will be a celebration of Gigi's life at Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 Brush Street, Las Vegas, on Saturday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity in Gigi's honor.
