Obituary of Joanne Comeau Kuhlmann

Joanne Elaine Comeau Kuhlmann, of Belmont, North Carolina, died April 15, 2022 at the Marian Center at Sisters of Mercy. She was the wife of the late Edwin Joseph Kuhlmann of Las Vegas, Nevada. Joanne was born in Elmhurst, New York on January 14, 1924 a daughter of the late John Francis and Sylvia Davison Comeau. At age sixteen, the family moved to Pine Bush, New York, where she lived until she married. She attended New Paltz State Teachers College (1943-1943) and married Edwin Joseph Kuhlmann in July 1945. Joanne is survived by a sister, Dianne Shattuck of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a sister-in-law Rita Comeau of Wallkill, New York. She leaves two children, Sister Joanne Agnes Kuhlmann of Belmont, North Carolina, and Margaret Emily Kuhlmann Dreyer of Branford, Connecticut. She also leaves a son-in-law Robert Dreyer, two grandchildren Erik William Olmstead, Mark Edward Olmstead and his wife Amber Sarno Olmstead and four great-grandchildren Bradley, Michael, Logan and Nora Olmstead, plus numerous nephews and nieces. In the 1970's Joanne obtained her LPN license from the State of Connecticut and worked fifteen years at Masonic Home and Hospital in Wallingford, Connecticut. Upon retiring, she and Edwin moved to North Las Vegas, Nevada. Joanne was a devout Catholic and an active member of her local parish both in Wallingford, Connecticut, and North Las Vegas, Nevada. Joanne and Edwin were very devoted to family. Her funeral Mass will be held at St. John Neumann roman Catholic Church in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
