Obituary of Norma Jean Dominguez

Norma Jean Dominguez, 75, passed away on December 26, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada where she had resided for the past six years. She was born on September 21, 1943 in Santa Rita, New Mexico to James Charles and Margaret Inez (Walker) Helton. Norma was a retired Social Worker for the New Mexico State Welfare Department in Silver City. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Margaret Walker; and her husband’s George Barela, and Placido Dominguez, all from New Mexico. She is survived by her son, James H. Barela of Thatcher, Arizona, brother, James W. Helton and sister-in-law, Sandra Helton; nieces Gaylynn Clark (Greg), and Joy Martin (Dr. John) all of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandnieces and three grandnephews and two great grandnieces and one great grandnephew. She is also survived by her stepchildren; Diane Smith and family of Utah, Ralph Dominguez and family of New Mexico and Dennis Dominguez and family of Arizona. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the LDS Paseo Verde Ward, 2497 Cozy Hill Circle in Henderson, Nevada 89052 at 12:00 Noon. Norma was loved by her entire family and will be sorely missed.
