I have very fond memories of Uncle Harry. I loved visiting your home when I was a young girl. Both your mom and dad were very sweet to me. I’m sorry for your loss.

Dear Family,
Oh, how sad we are to lose Harry. (But no, not to suffer)
I was a member of El Perro Diablo Detachment, Marine Corps League in Las Cruces when Harry joined us. After he started the Honor Guard and they were the only professional military honors group, except for the active duty Army National Guard that we served with, the Honor Guard was on call for all services at all times. We were busy and well trained by Marine Harry. Thank you, Harry, for a job well done...and still doing. I asked him if I could join...no other Women Marines in the Honor Guard and only a few in the detachment. He said: "Come on out!" So I did...and am still there.
We'll be there in spirit at his service in Illinois.
Semper Fidelis
Carol

Truly a gentleman. That is what came to mind the first day I met him and I will always remember him as such. He was a pleasure to talk to, his experience reflected in the way he spoke. With sincere condolences. Robin Nelson

Dear Scott, Marge, Cailey and Mike; and Dale and Patti,
Our deepest sympathies to you all in the loss of your Dad and Grandpa. We loved "H" so much and always enjoyed his laughter and stories and kindness. It was an honor to know him, and his service to our country with amazing dedication to his fellow serviceman. Our common love for our Chicago Bears was always a great topic of conversation, too. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now. Rest in peace, Harry. You were one of the best. Much Love, Rob and Sarah, Mary and Matt, & Rebecca and Ryan

Dale and Scott I don’t really know where to start in telling you what an important part your mom and dad played in my life.
They were there to be the shoulder I needed to cry on, ears when I needed someone to listen and the arms I needed for those best like hugs.
I remember calling at 2 in the morning when frank was out of town golfing and Sarah came down with chicken pox and she started to hallucinate from the meds. “H” got up and took us to ER with out hesitation.
To many things to write.
I loved your parents as my own and life is definitely different without them in it.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.

H was the 1st person to truly tell me how the Marine Corps was & he made fun of me for it.
But he was always a great friend & neighbor.
Just like all the other dad's in the neighborhood. He will he missed.
And as a fellow Marine I say Semper Fi & give him a mighty OORAH.
His new duty station is standing at those pearly gates & guarding them
