I am deeply saddened today to learn of the passing of a great man, great husband, great father, and to me, a fabulous FRIEND!. I had the privilege and honor of getting to know and work with Nelson at the Sacramento Association of Realtors while he was our Executive Director. He was one of the nicest people I have ever known and I loved the way he and Tyler made such a perfect couple. His smile and calm demeanor are something that I will never forget. He never seemed to panic and always seemed to see the best in people. His giving of himself to help me and others is something that also stands out in my mind.
There was a time when Nelson and Tyler tried to take up the game of golf and I had the opportunity to play with them a couple of times. The one thing I think we all shared was the knowledge that none of would ever be special as golfers but we could laugh and have fun no matter what. We all shared in the knowledge that we were thankful that we had Day Jobs that we could count on.
Nelson definitely did all that he could to make our organization (SAR) and the world better places. I will forever be indebted to him for all that he did and I know God had a very special place in heaven for him. Thank you, Nelson, for sharing some of your time with us. You will forever be remembered.

My sincere condolences to the Janes Family. I admired Nelson so much and learned so much about "how to act in crowds" just by watching him. He impressed me with his calm and with his patience, usually standing at the back of the room. He always said hello at any event I saw him attend and he was always happy. I really didn't know him very well but he certainly made a positive impression on me as a nice, genuine person.

My deepest condolences to Tyler and each member of Nelson's precious family.
My friendship with Nelson began in Sacramento CA when he came to be the great leader of our Realtor community. He reflected all of his unique characteristics
including patience and strength. He gave of himself abundantly, and he made our Sacramento Association of Realtors a much better place. We are grateful to have had an opportunity to know and to love Nelson. His legacy will endure and will never be forgotten. May he rest in God's loving arms.

It's very hard to describe how much Nelson meant to me. As a boss, he was the consummate professional and deeply respectful. He'd leave me and my colleagues little hand written notes when he thought we'd done a good job. (He had terrible handwriting and we teased him that he should be doctor.) He avoided receiving attention for his efforts, instead he wanted those he worked with to receive the praise and acknowledgement. I rarely ever heard him speak ill of another person, even if I could tell he was frustrated with a situation. Nelson didn't talk about himself much but when I asked about a beautiful new family portrait hanging in his office, he lit up joyfully explaining who each family member was and how proud he was of them. It was obvious his wife and family were his everything.
I am so extremely grateful I was able to working with this amazing man for 10 years. I'm heartbroken he is gone. I am praying for his beloved family and friends every day.
