Obituary of Bruce Howard Berry

Bruce Howard Berry, 80, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. 

 

He was born September 27, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, to the Honorable Abraham and Ruth (Janapol) Berry, joining his older brother William. He graduated from the Friends Seminary in 1957, Saint Lawrence University and Brooklyn Law School, where he earned a Juris Doctorate. 

 

After being best friends for eight years, Bruce married Linda Cole on March 3, 1973 in New York City. 

 

He spent nearly his entire professional career as a labor and employment attorney at the law firm of Sabin, Bermant and Gould, LLP, where he was a partner and head of the Labor Department, retiring in 2009. A man of true fortitude, he did not miss a single day due to illness or injury.  

 

Bruce was an avid skier and SCUBA diver, who enjoyed rodeos, building models, photography, collecting art, travel and driving cross country listening to books on tape. He was very fond of country, jazz and classical music. Bruce built a substantial library of first edition mystery novels. He enjoyed wine, chocolate, barbecue and fine dining. 

 

He is survived by his wife Linda, his two sons, David and Eric, and his four granddaughters, Katerina, Maisie, Alisa and Celeste, as well as his extended family. 

 

Due to the pandemic, there will be no memorial service. Donations in his memory can be made to Chabad of Henderson or JNF (Special in Uniform).
