Obituary of Betty K Bell

Betty Kay Bell (Johns), 70, had retired to Las Vegas Nevada in 2019, from Bremerton Washington, where she spent the last 2 ½ years enjoying life, spending time at her favorite casino with the love of her life Larry D. Bell Sr., and visiting family. Betty Kay left this earth on November 7th, 2021 to join her father and beloved ones in heaven.

Betty Kay was born on March 20th,1951 in Bakersfield, California to William Elbert Johns and Bernice Bell Johns (Sweeten). On November 7th, 1970, Betty Kay married Larry D. Bell and spent the next 51 years on their adventure in life. Betty Kay was known for her love of animals that eventually led to volunteering and fostering cats. Betty spent her working years in the hospitality industry as a housekeeper for the local hospital in Medford, Oregon and various other businesses in New Mexico and Washington. Betty’s kids and grandkids were the second loves of her life and she enjoyed spending time with them. Betty was a gardener with a love for roses and had a house full of plants that she constantly started shoots for others to enjoy. Betty Kay’s favorite hobbies were playing the penny machines at her favorite casino, walking her fur-babies, and coffee hour with friends.

 Betty is survived by her husband Larry D. Bell Sr and their fur-babies Jack and Gracie, her six siblings; Ray Johns (Kathy), Rosemary Baker, Bernita Thomas (George), Ruby Thomas (Lowell), Dean Johns (Charlene), and David Johns (Lorraine). Betty’s children; Jeffrey Bell (Tami), Larry D. Bell (Jodi), Shannon Bayne (Matt), Crystal Thornton (Morgan), and Karen Jakubiszen (Mike). Betty Kay had 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 16 nieces and nephews, and numerous great- nieces and nephews. Betty had a big heart, she treated anyone who came into her home like family. She will be missed by many friends who have become family.

Preceding Betty Kay in passing, is her father William Elbert Johns, her mother-in-law Gladys Ruth Bell, her sister-in-law Arylene Ruth Merrill and husband Edward Merrill, her brother-in-law Phillip “Mac” Baker, her niece Tammy Baker,  and her father-in-law Dee Webb Bell. Betty’s beloved fur-babies, Lady Bear, Prince, Jazz, Joey, Squirt, and Gus.

Betty Kay enjoyed  life to the fullest and in memory of this, a celebration of her life will be held in Bakersfield California with family and friends. This celebration will be on March 19th, 2022 at Cityview Church; 3535 Union Ave, Bakersfield Ca, 93305.
